Bio
Dr. Sandra Thompson was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She graduated as valedictorian from Palo Verde High School and received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Thompson continued her education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. In dental school, she quickly discovered that treating children was her passion and decided to specialize in pediatric dentistry.

She completed her two year Pediatric Dental Residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, which is currently ranked #3 in the nation among children’s hospitals. She served as chief resident her second year in the program. During residency, she received specialized training in advanced behavior management techniques, such as in-office oral sedation and dental treatment in a hospital setting. She has additional training in managing special needs and medically-compromised patients. Additionally, she completed advanced training courses in laser infant frenectomies. Passionate about learning, she is continuously pursuing continuing education courses, so that she can provide families with the highest quality care and most advanced dental treatments. Dr. Thompson is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Western Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Nevada Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
As a compassionate mother raising two little ones, she understands how to help kids feel appreciated and respected as they learn about their smiles and the importance of great dental care. Dr. Thompson loves creating lasting bonds with families and watching the children she treats grow with the practice. In her free time, she fills her days treasuring time with her family, hiking, going to the movies, and chasing waves at the beach. Truly a kid at heart, you can also find her enjoying Disney movies just as much as her patients do!
